Taste of Cincinnati

2013 Taste Highlights

Taste of Cincinnati USA, presented by Meijer and Christian Moerlein, is the city’s showcase of music and food and the region’s annual kickoff to summer. Check out these fun highlights happening at this year's event.

 NEW! goVibrant Veggie Races

GoVibrant

Local media celebrities representing TV, radio, print and blogs will compete in the first-ever goVibrant Veggie Races on Friday, May 24 from noon to 1 p.m. on Fountain Square. Similar to Soap Box Derby races, contestants will be provided vegetables to build and race a veggie-fueled vehicle in a round-robin style tournament.

Yep, there's an App for that

Did you make it to Taste but forget to check out the schedule or strategize your plan of attack? Fear not! New this year, an app for iPhones and Androids is available that will turn a Taste rookie into a 34-year veteran. With the app, users can look at the restaurants, food and entertainment, create and agenda for their trip, and have fun in the photo booth.

Taste of Cincinnati Experience

Ten of Cincinnati's signature restaurants will participate in the newly created Taste of Cincinnati Experience, located in the P&G Gardens at Fifth and Sycamore streets, to offer an intimate dining experience with seating and live music. Participating restaurants include: 20 Brix, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Daveed's, Orchids, The Palace, and Tano's. Chefs from the participating restaurants will be on-site at the Experience for three-hour increments each day (check back closer to the event for the detailed schedule). Representatives from Les Chefs de Cuisine will also be in the area throughout the weekend with samplings and cooking demonstrations.

NEW! Tappings, Tastings & Tours by Christian Moerlein Brewing Co., official beer of Taste of Cincinnati

Christian Moerlein Brewing Company will serve as the Official Beer of Taste of Cincinnati in addition to being a presenting sponsor. They will create the Moerlein Beer Garden on Fountain Square during the event, serving specialty craft beers like the Moerlein Original Golden Helles, Moerlein Over-the-Rhine Ale, Moerlein Exposition Vienna Lager, Moerlein Northern Liberties IPA, and the soon-to-be-released Moerlein Seven Hefeweizen - plus new styles yet to hit the market. Every two hours of Taste of Cincinnati, the expert brewers of Moerlein will tap specialty kegs - "Pins and Firkins" - of dry hopped cask-conditioned ales to offer samples, discuss beer, and talk about brewing methods.

Additionally, visitors will be offered free one-hour tours of the new Christian Moerlein Production Craft Brewery, located in Over-the-Rhine at 1621 Moore Street. Buses will run continuously to and from Fountain Square during Taste of Cincinnati. Guests can register, free of charge, at the Christian Moerlein Beer Garden on Fountain Square.

Food Truck Alley on North Broadway

Local food trucks will take over North Broadway off of Fifth Street, downtown to serve a variety of cuisine in a new area called Food Truck Alley, which will also feature live music and seating. You'll see food trucks like C'est Cheese, EAT Mobile Dining, the Gold Star Chili Mobile, Mellow Mushroom, Sugarsnap! and more.
